DESCRIPTION:
Family seeking a reliable and loving nanny for a six-year old son with special needs in Land Park. The nanny will provide care after school with time spent at both the on-campus after school program and at home. This includes picking him up from school and transporting him home. Approximately 24 hours a week from 2:00 pm – 6:30 pm Monday – Friday and Thursdays would be a start time of 1:00.
The child is a sweet, sensitive, and social boy who loves connecting with people. He has physical, fine motor, and speech delays due to a genetic deletion. He is nonverbal and learning to communicate via signing and use of the iPad as a speech device. He is also potty-training and in pull-ups. In addition to providing basic care, the nanny will work with him to help develop communication, self-care, and other skills through reinforcing therapies, practicing signs, etc.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with special needs kids. Speech therapy/communication, occupational therapy, or early childhood development background a plus. Pet free home. $15-$20 an hour DOE.
