A loving Sacramento family with a newborn and a toddler is seeking a nurturing, experienced overnight nanny to provide restful nighttime support while both parents balance demanding work schedules. The family already has a trusted daytime nanny and is now looking for additional help two nights per week — Sundays and Tuesdays, 8 PM to 7 AM — starting as soon as possible through mid-December.
During the first hour of the evening, the family would appreciate light household support such as loading the dishwasher, washing and sterilizing bottles, and preparing a couple of bottles for the night so that the parents can focus on getting their toddler settled for bed. Once the toddler is asleep, the nanny will take over infant care for the night — feeding, diaper changes, and helping the baby settle back to sleep. They are asking that care also be provided for their toddler as he is still waking up once or twice in the evenings. The family’s goal is to create a calm, peaceful environment where both children can rest and parents can recharge knowing their little ones are in capable hands.
The ideal candidate is gentle, highly reliable, and experienced with both newborn and toddler overnight routines. The family values communication, attentiveness, and someone confident enough to anticipate needs without overstepping. This position is short-term but deeply meaningful for a family with who truly needs rest and support.
Because the mother works in a hospital with high-risk children, health safety and hygiene are top priorities. The family requires someone who is fully vaccinated (TDAP, Flu, COVID) with a clear TB test, practices excellent hygiene, does not smoke or wear perfume, and is proactive in communicating any illness or potential exposure outside the home. The ideal fit is calm, reliable, and experienced with both newborn and toddler overnight routines, able to create a peaceful nighttime environment where the whole family can rest easy.
This is a short-term position and does not include traditional benefits such as PTO or sick leave; however, the family is offering competitive pay at $35+ per hour in recognition of the specialized overnight care and flexibility required. They are committed to maintaining the agreed-upon schedule each week and, should any changes arise, will provide as much advance notice as possible out of respect for the nanny’s time and commitment.
