A wonderful single mother family in East Sacramento is looking for a warm, reliable, and energetic nanny to join them starting by April. Their daughter is 6 years old and she is affectionate, funny, creative, and full of life. She loves art, sensory activities, bike rides, music, and the park. She has ADHD, so the ideal candidate will bring calm energy, patience, and a natural ability to create gentle structure and routine after school. This is a hybrid role — part afterschool nanny, part family assistant — and the right person will feel comfortable balancing both.
Most shifts will start at the family's home before school pickup, giving the nanny time to get a head start on household tasks like laundry, tidying, or a grocery run. After pickup, the nanny will be helping the 6 year old decompress after a full school day, supporting homework or enrichment activities, and keeping her engaged and having fun. Meanwhile, keeping the home tidy, getting a meal prepped, and staying on top of household tasks is all part of the flow. Think less "nanny who also helps around the house" and more "someone who genuinely does both well."
Driving is a requirement for this role. The nanny must have their own reliable vehicle and carry full coverage auto insurance, as they will be responsible for school pickup and transporting their daughter to appointments and activities throughout the week. Mileage reimbursement will be provided.
Their daughter is also a big fan of the water and swims well. The community has a pool she loves to visit, so a nanny who enjoys swimming and is comfortable in and around the water would be a wonderful fit for summer fun!
Mom is transitioning from working at home to commuting to the office five days a week, and as a single parent, she is really counting on having someone steady and dependable in her corner. She has a gentle, relationship-focused parenting style and is looking for someone who shares that same warmth and consistency. This family is open-minded about background and experience — what matters most is finding someone who can keep up with an energetic little girl while bringing a calm, grounding presence to the home. Occasional evening or weekend shifts may be requested, and there is potential for travel with the family down the road, though it is not a requirement. The schedule is expected to stay consistent through summer, making this a stable, long-term opportunity for the right person.
