Description
A vibrant busy family in Folsom is seeking a proactive, adaptable, and warm nanny to care for their imaginative and artistic 10-year-old daughter. This unique role is centered around domestic and international travel starting ASAP, and is ideal for a confident caregiver who thrives in dynamic, fast-paced environments and loves new adventures. The position will run for 8–12 months only.
This is not a live-in role, but overnight accommodations will be provided as needed while traveling or when the nanny stays with the daughter during the mother’s solo work trips (this is a single parent home). The family values consistency, so the nanny will remain engaged even when not traveling — providing care, helping with routines, school work, and supporting the child’s creativity at home. A valid passport and COVID vaccination are required, and the ideal candidate will be flexible with no fixed weekly schedule, as hours will vary depending on travel and family needs. The family is offering guaranteed full-time hours (minimum 40 hours/week), with overtime pay when relevant.
The child is entering 5th grade and is a vibrant “maker” — she loves art, music, outdoor play, and hands-on activities with little to no screen time. The nanny should be an adventurous, confident, and communicative professional who is comfortable navigating unfamiliar cities, public transportation, trying new restaurants, and adjusting on the fly. The family appreciates over-communication and values transparency and thoughtful updates each day. Confidence and a positive attitude are key to being succesful in this role. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced nanny looking to have new experiences while also supporting a lovely family for the next 8-12 months.

Responsibilities
- Provide consistent, high-quality care for a creative 10-year-old at home and while traveling
- Plan and lead developmentally appropriate, imaginative activities
- Confidently manage changing travel schedules and daily routines
- Remain at home with the child when the parent is traveling solo for work
- Support logistics and transitions during both domestic and international travel
- Navigate airports, new cities, public transportation, and cultural experiences
- Provide daily communication and updates to the parent
- Maintain a fun, low-screen, high-engagement environment
- Occasionally use personal vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of professional nanny experience with school-age children
- Valid passport and willingness to travel (domestically and internationally)
- COVID and TDAP vaccination required, plus recent clear TB test
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable vehicle
- CPR & First Aid certification
- Ability to work a flexible, variable schedule with guaranteed full-time hours
- Strong communication skills and proactive problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working solo or with parent nearby
- Confident managing child’s care during overnights without parent
- Organized, adventurous, and able to plan creative activities independently
- Strong sense of responsibility and adaptable to ever changing environments.
- Willingness to eat new foods, explore new cities with the 10 year old, and plan fun outings in these new places without parent having to give exact plans.
Job Benefits
- Guaranteed 40 hours/week minimum
