Family Syllabus:
A warm and welcoming family relocating from NYC to Sacramento is seeking a nurturing, engaging, and proactive nanny to care for their two children—a toddler and a newborn expected in January. The family will be moving into the Land Park area and is excited to find a nanny who feels like an extension of their family. Their toddler will attend school in the mornings starting in December, and the new baby will be welcomed early in the new year. They hope to have the nanny start in December in order to build a bond with their toddler and get settled in before the baby is born. They value an energetic caregiver who can keep their toddler engaged with outings, playgroups, and nature time, while also providing gentle, developmentally supportive care for their infant.
Ideal Candidate:
The family is looking for a seasoned nanny who is warm, dependable, and confident managing the needs of two young children. A successful candidate will be proactive, able to work independently, and comfortable planning activities without much direction. Strong judgment, calm energy, and the ability to set clear but kind boundaries are important. A bubbly personality with the wisdom and experience to match would be the perfect balance. This family deeply values communication, engagement, and a nanny who is truly present with their children (not on their phone). A love of nature, books, music, and fostering independence through routines and practical life skills will be especially appreciated.
Job Synopsis:
This position will begin part-time in December (afternoons with the toddler), transitioning to full-time by March when the newborn is older and the family’s needs increase. The family is willing to pay full time pay during this transition in order to secure the right full time nanny. The schedule is expected to be Monday–Friday, approximately 8:30 a.m.–6:30 p.m., though there may be some variation with school and work schedules. Duties include planning engaging activities, attending local playgroups and outings, preparing meals for the children, grocery shopping, baby-related laundry, and supporting the children’s routines and development. Occasional overnights may be offered but are not required. The family’s sweet dog may enjoy occasional walks with the nanny, but no pet care is required. Parents will be home at times (especially mom), so comfort working as part of a team is key.
